Summer is hot. Summer is sweaty. And chub rub is real. So, to make life more bearable in when it warms up I live it culottes. I love how flowy and comfy they are and also how easy to style and cool they look.
These particular black culottes are from New Look via ASOS and I think they work perfectly for a casual day with the girls or smartened up for a more formal work environment.
For this lazy Saturday spent shopping with the girls, I decided to pair the culottes with an old Topshop crop top and my uber comfy New Balance trainers.
And you can still jump around like an idiot in them.
So, don’t be surprised if you see me living in culottes until the weather decides to behave itself and cool down a little.
January is over! Well if those aren’t three of my favourite words. January is done, its all up hill from here. There has been some horrendous weather these last few weeks, vicious wind and thundering rain but in-between the sun has been forcing its way through. So a friend and I decided to get out while we could, so I took us to where I spent my childhood playing for hours. We went to the Cargreen playground and stood in awe of its beauty, then we played in the play park. Age is just a number people.
One day I will have a house that close to a river or the sea.
Despite sunny pretences, there has been and there will be rain. Not long before this was taken a child in wellies was having the time of his life in that giant puddle.
I played on this aeroplane over 20 years ago. Its the only piece of play equipment that has survived the upgrade of this park.
This place is beautiful and filled with memories of the happiest childhood anyone could ask for. I can’t wait until its warm and sunny and can take pictures here again.

One thing you need to know about me is that I love leopard print. I will pretty much buy anything if it comes in leopard print. I`ve always had a pretty sizeable part of my wardrobe dedicated to leopard print since I was about 14. Now, I know that some people find it tacky and a bit crass but I just can`t get enough of it. I find it both sexy and sassy which are my two favourite things to be. So here is a quick look around my current leopard print clothing collection…
And just for good measure here`s a quick snap I took on Halloween of myself dressed as a leopard, mainly because it meant I didn`t have to buy anything new.
So, please let me know if you also share my very real and very bank balance destroying obsession with leopard print.
I thought a good way to introduce you guys to my style would be to share with you where I get my inspiration from. Today’s focus will be Paramore front woman and all round powerhouse Hayley Williams. I have been an avid Paramore fan since the release of their sophomore album Riot in 2007, but it wasnt until the Brand New Eyes that I really started to adore the style of flame haired Hayley.
Her style bread and butter since the beginning has always been skinny jeans and t shirt, yet she’s maintained a flare for experimentation. In more recent years this desire to be unapologetically herself has led to fashion, make up and hair becoming an important part of her self expression. The ethos that fashion is dress up and make up is fun is something I truly believe in. As she has grown from a kid finding her feet to a confident woman who knows who she is so her style has evolved and become more about standing out than fitting in.
I’m really into healthy self-expression; that’s why I dye my hair, that’s why I wear stupid clothes, that’s why I don’t care that my bangs look like Spock from Star Trek. – Hayley Williams
The staples remain the same a love of great denim, the frivolity of clashing prints, a truly enviable collection of shoes (I’d give my life for her Vans collection) and a punk rock attitude that puts the focus on self expression rather than fashion rules. A true fashion renegade after my own heart.
